Oxford Reading Tree- Story Time and Activities!
In this on going class your child will develop the fundamentals of proper listening and comprehension skills through world renowned Oxford Reading Tree books. This class is designed to nurture a love of reading and literacy!
Class experience
Week of March 1st Theme Story: "Biff's Wonder Words" from Oxford Reading Tree Stage 1 Activity: Draw what you see- Students draw a picture based in what they heard from Storytime. Homework Comprehension Questions: 1. What are some of the wonder words Biff learns? 2. How does Biff feel when he learns new words? 3. By the end of this Story Time Adventure, students will have developed a deeper appreciation for literature while enhancing their reading comprehension skills. They will expand their vocabulary, improve their ability to sequence events, analyze characters, and infer meaning from the text. Additionally, students will strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities as they engage in discussions and activities related to the stories. Through interactive and creative learning experiences, learners will foster a lifelong love for reading and storytelling, gaining confidence in their reading abilities and developing valuable social and emotional skills through collaboration and communication with their peers.
I have over 20 years teaching children how to properly read and speak. I also have experience in creating inclusion methods for students on the autism spectrum.
Homework Offered
HW comprehension questions will be assigned at the end of each class. IEP HM will be assigned to students who require it.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
