Welcome to my Reading and Comprehension class with Oxford Reading Tree Level 5 books! For your very first Outschool class, use promo code LauraMatthews6OUTRE20 at checkout for $20 off any class on Outschool! In this class learners will work through all 16 Level 5 Books (2 a week). Each book is recorded on a PowerPoint presentation with me reading the book to learners, however you will have the choice to mute the lesson and learners will be able to read the book themselves. At the end of each book there will be a set of questions which reflects on the main events of the story. This is to practice their comprehension skills. Learners can answer the questions verbally, written on paper or handouts, or just think about them. The key is to generate reflections of the story without focus on their writing skills. Examples of some Level 5 sentences to asses if this level is appropriate for your leaner: 'The magic was working. It took the children inside. It took Floppy too.' 'kipper was looking at a book. The book was about a dragon.' The Oxford reading Tree books start at level 2 and progress to level 9 (see my other classes for all levels). They all feature the same characters who go on different magic adventures and solve problems together. Leaners will get to know the characters which will hopefully build their enjoyment and eagerness to read. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to drop me a message - I'm here to help! I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
