In this ongoing book club, learners will have an Owl-mazing time practicing their reading skills with the Scholastic chapter book series Owl Diaries! This book club will focus on high-interest content to enchant and engage readers! This book club will help boost your learner's reading confidence, vocabulary, and fluency! Learners will answer questions and share their favorite parts of the book. We will cover 30-40 pages in each meeting I will model reading and have learners read if they are comfortable. Learners should read assigned readings posted in the classroom before class to be familiar with the text. Learners will take a fun Kahoot Quiz to check for comprehension and extended practice reading at the end of each meeting. Eva's life is a real HOOT! Come read what her next treetop adventure is with us! Week 1-Eva's Treetop Festival: Eva Wingdale gets in over her head when she offers to organize a spring festival at school. Even with her best friend Lucy's help, there is no way she will get everything done in time. Will Eva have to ask Sue (a.k.a. Meanie McMeanerson) for help? Or will the festival have to be canceled? Week 2- Eva Sees a Ghost: In this second book in the series, Eva sees a ghost! Or at least, she thinks she does . . . With her friend Lucy by her side, Eva goes in search of the ghost. Eek! Week of October 2- A Woodland Wedding: Week 3: Eva's teacher, Miss Featherbottom, is getting married. All of her students have been invited to the wedding. And Eva starts a Secret Wedding Planners Club! But before Miss Featherbottom walks down the aisle, her necklace goes missing. Eva wants to help! She quickly turns her Wedding Planners Club into a Detectives Club. Can Eva track down the missing necklace before Miss Featherbottom's wedding is ruined? Week 4: Week 3-Eva and the New Owl A new owl named Hailey starts in Eva's class at school. Eva is always happy to meet new people, and she's excited to make a new friend! But the new owl befriends Lucy instead of her. So Eva gets jealous. Lucy is Eva's best friend! Will Eva lose her best friend? Or can Eva and Lucy BOTH make a new friend? Week 5- Baxter is Missing A famous author is coming to Treetopolis! Eva and her classmates each have to write a story to share with the author. Eva's excited! But then something terrible happens: Her pet bat, Baxter, goes missing! Eva can't think of anything to write about -- except how much she misses Baxter! With help from her friends, Eva looks everywhere for Baxter. She even hangs up MISSING posters! Where could Baxter be? And will Eva finish her story in time for the author's visit? Week 5-Warm Hearts Day Week 6- Baxter Is Missing Week 7- The Wildwood Bakery Week 8- Eva and the Lost Pony Week 9- Eva's Big Sleepover Week 10-Eva and Baby Mo Week 11- Trip to the Pumpkin Farm Week 12- Eva's Campfire Adventure Week 13- Eva in the Spotlight Week 14- Eva at the Beach Week 15- Eva's New Pet Week 16- Get Well Eva Week 17- Eva in the Band

As a licensed teacher for over 30 years, I have had the opportunity to support and engage students with diverse learning needs. I strive to create a positive classroom environment that is both supportive and engaging, where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating in discussions. My goal is to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving their academic goals.
My passion is literature. I believe stories make concepts more palpable to children. Stories teach students valuable lessons, empathy, and to see the world from different perspectives.
When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
I hope to see your learner in class!
