Students will create a acrylic painting of three cuddly baby owls. I will read the book "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell followed by a brief fun fact discussion. Then, using step by step instruction, I will teach how to paint their owls. My class is a combination of explanation, discussion, science facts, and demonstration. The students will learn acquire acrylic and stippling techniques. Every student learns differently so interaction is important to me. I try to met the unique needs of each student.
Learning Goals
Student will able to: learn acrylic and stippling painting techniques, acquire knowledge about Owls, understand space in relation to positive/negative space, foreground/background, how to draw and paint an owl.

11 x 14 canvas, acrylic paint( small tubes); black, white, light brown, green, naples (off white) gold(optional), three brushes-large flat (1 inch),medium flat, very small round brush (details), paper plate, paper towels, plastic cup. Book I will have "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell
