We will learn and label the anatomy of animals using PowerPoint. Screen sharing will be used for live YouTube (depending on topic). If students want to suggest an animal based on the topic covered they may do so before the start of class. Students will be asked to research: draw, label, and write facts about an animal. Classifying Animals - Vertebrates: - Week 1: Mammals - Week 2: Birds (03/10/21) - Week 3: Fish (03/24/21) We will not meet on St. Patrick's Day - Week 4: Reptiles (03/31/21) - Week 5: Amphibians (04/07/21) - Invertebrates: - Week 6: Insects (04/14/21) - Week 7: Arachnids (04/21/21) - Week 8: Molluscks (04/28/21) - Week 9: Annelids (05/05/21) - Week 10: Crustaceans (05/12/21) - Week 11: Echinoderms (05/19/21) Suggestion: Have students do their assignments on clear, white paper and have them hole punched. Use different colored pencils for each type of system: example blue for circulatory system. They will have a binder of animals sorted by the end! No prior knowledge is needed, however please have a pencil and paper ready. Dressing up like their favorite animal is highly encouraged.
