Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 4
Ready to think outside the box? This fun class is for students who love math and enjoy a challenge! Each week students are presented with a different type of math puzzle. They usually have a math base (like number sense, patterns, geometry, algebraic thinking, etc.), but also require critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity to solve. Some require a basic understanding of the 4 basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), so this class is ideal for students working at a 3rd or 4th grade level in math.
Join us for just one class or for the whole series!

Class Structure
******************
1-Students are presented with a puzzle to solve. They have a few minutes to examine, ponder, and figure out how to approach the puzzle.
2-Students share ideas they came up with for solving the puzzle, and we solve it together as a class.
3-We'll spend the rest of the class solving similar puzzles.
