Stefany P: I am a Math teacher in Florida. I have my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Education Studies. I fell in love with teaching in high school. While I went to school for Biomedical first, my heart was always teaching. I believe in teaching with love, care, and patience. I have taught Preschool - Middle School. My classes are interactive, and I try to make the lesson fun by implementing games, exercises, and music. Ti'Asha J: I love instilling a passion for science in young learners, so my classes are all in neuroscience, biology, chemistry, or psychology I am a Cedar Crest College graduate with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Integrated Biology, which was an interdisciplinary study between biology and chemistry. During my time in college I had the opportunity to be a Teaching Assistant (TA) for the chemistry department, as well as a Research Director for the biology department. Personally, I am a very visual and hands-on learner, so anytime I have the opportunity to make a class or lesson more interactive, I definitely will! The approaches I usually take are things such as drawings, making 3D models, experiments, and many more.
Worksheets will be provided in the classroom and need to be printed every week. A notebook is highly recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students may occasionally need parental supervision or assistance to use scissors. Younger students may need assistance with this. During some STEM activities, students will need to collect natural materials, like rocks from their yard, and may need parental supervision.
