Join this trial to get a taste of what it is like to build a community in a small group pod. This Pod class will cover an introduction to a variety of species know as exotics and pocket pets. We will meet for 30 minutes each day. Class will consist of teacher led discussions with slides to view and plenty of interaction with and between the learners. Short video clips may be used. Denise has been a veterinary technician for over 30 years and is passionate about pets; large, small and exotics! She has a Master’s degree in Education and enjoys teaching both kids and adults. She has been teaching for 10+ years at a local community college in veterinary assistant programs, equine studies at a private university and also has taught in the Kids on Campus and Excursions in Learning Program. Denise is the founder of the Future Vet and Animal Science Academy, an organization on Outschool. At home Denise’s family has a variety of pets including; horses, goats, chickens and 3 indoor cats. Amy loves teaching about animals. She has a degree in education and have taught in the school system. Her passion for animals led her into veterinary medicine and was a vet technician for an equine practice. She has raised and shown rabbits and Guinea pigs for several years. Recently she has entered into the canine rehab field where she helps dogs recover from injuries and surgeries through hydrotherapy. In her extra time, she enjoys training feral mustang horses and competing in dog agility trials.
Any worksheets will be provided at least 7 days prior to class. All classes do not require handouts.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This course will have discussion about sick animals. If your learner is sensitive about such topics, this may not be a good fit.
