Class Experience
***Learner Community experiences are free for all learners, however, you will be charged and refunded $1 to ensure a parent is making the enrollment. Refunds will be made at the end of each month.*** Please note: Enrolling in a section of this club will put you in a "holding" section. Once you're enrolled, you will be given instructions on how to submit your sample prompt response and a message will be sent to your parent to sign a form. We will review your submission and then you will be moved to a current or future Multimedia Club class. Please make sure to submit your sample as soon as possible so you don't miss the next cohort of Multimedia Club. Are you a Teen Content Creator? Do you like to make graphics, videos, writing blogs, newspaper articles and more? Now is your chance to help the Learner Community by creating content that will be featured throughout all of Outschool by joining Outschool Multimedia Club. You can do things like… ✏️ Assemble our Literary Magazine ✏️ Create OS Community Newsletters ✏️ Create OS Newsreels ✏️ Create Videos ✏️ Create Challenges ✏️ Social Media Posts and More! Here’s how you can join! 👉 Sign up for ANY open section of the class. This is a "holding" section, a space where we can connect with you before you officially join the MMC. 👉 We will message your parent (or they can message us!) for a link to the release form for them to sign. A release form is required for you to join the MMC. 👉 We will also sent a submission form to send us creative sample so we can get a sense of your creator style. What will the sample prompt be? Your prompt will be to submit original content on what the word “community” means to you. This can be an image, an essay, a mock social media post, a live news report or any kind of content that expresses your message. It can be sincere or silly. It’s most important that it is authentic to you so we can get an idea of your creative style. Use the following guidelines: ✅ Video entries should be 2 min or less. ✅ Text based entries must use the word “community” and be 500 words or less. ✅ Mock Social Media Posts should include images + text that is 280 characters or less ✅ You must be 13 or older. (We know we have awesome creators of all ages, but this opportunity is currently only for teens.) ✅ Please describe how you would see your content featured. Example: “Here is a commercial I could see OS creating” or “Here is a mock daily news interview” Once we have your materials we will move you over to the current or future section of the Multimedia Club, depending on your schedule. Please note, admission to the Multimedia Club is rolling, and you may join at any time of the year. Learners who are almost 13 can enroll for a future section, but we will not move you into the official club section until you after you turn 13. The Multimedia Club is a flex experience and does not have any mandatory live meetings. We will however have opportunities for learners to join a live project lab experience if it works for their schedule. You can check that class out here: https://outschool.com/classes/outschool-multimedia-club-project-lab-9FbigvPe Upcoming Deadlines for Labs To be considered to join a live MMC Lab, please submit your prompt in the classroom by the following deadlines: Summer Lab - June 2 Fall Lab - September 6 Winter Lab - December 18 Spring Lab - March 1 The Multimedia Club is a flex experience and does not have any mandatory live meetings.
