How does the solar system hold up its pants??? **With an asteroid belt!!!** 😁 I love outer space, and no matter how old I get, I still enjoy discovering new things about our solar system and beyond. This is a FLEX (flexible schedule) course, which means there is NO LIVE segment. Instead, every Sunday for 4 weeks, I will post that week's information packet. This includes a few short recorded videos (4-8 minutes in length) AND access to extension activities that will strengthen their knowledge...
The main goal of this class is to launch a lifetime of space curiosity. Students will discover new details about planets, asteroids, space exploration and more!
I have over 12 years experience as a science teacher for ages 5-14. I have taught children all over the world just like you! Space exploration is one of the most fascinating topics to me, and I have found the enthusiasm with this subject is quite contagious! 😊
Weekly assignments will be provided to enhance the learner's understanding of the class and to encourage engagement with the others.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will access NASA's kids website (https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/) and quizlet.com for research purposes. NO account is needed for either one! Quizlets are games that quiz what was covered in the recorded videos. A link will be attached that will take you directly to the game, which will be ready to play! The NASA website will only be used to track a few space missions that are taking place now and give us insight to current space exploration!
Students may be asked to do research on https://spaceplace.nasa.gov/ at times. Spaceplace is a kids section of nasa.gov that we will use to track current missions that give us further insight to ongoing space exploration.
