Basic camping supplies and camp setup will be introduced....
Students will learn basic compass and topographic map skills, knot tying practice, and basic Morse Code skills.
As a geologist, I have hiked in remote regions of wooded and desert terrain and understand the challenges and strategies to stay safe. As a hobbyist, I enjoy camping, hang gliding, hiking, kayaking, and dirt biking/motorcycling.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Content is presented in Nearpod and I will screen share so that students do not have to create an account.
