Out of a Jar by Deborah Marcero is such a great resource to help kids learn how to manage challenging feelings. Instead of bottling up our feelings lets learn to cope with them in a healthy way. Using clip art of jars in the printables is a great way for kids to relate to the story. They can practice and think of ways to cope with different emotions they might feel like hiding away. Skills Targeted: -Managing Emotions -Identifying Feelings -Expressing emotions in a healthy way We will discuss feelings, then read the book, and after discuss how the main character managed their feelings. Students will also do independent work in identifying healthy ways to express feelings.
