Description

Class Experience

This class will give LGBTQIA+ students a place to connect socially with other queer teens and talk about relevant topics to them, queer themed or not. The primary goal is connection and belonging, but as a certified coach I will pepper in discussion topics about identity, self-care, boundaries, and other important life skills
I'm a queer out woman and an active member of the LBGTQIA+ community. I'm a certified Leadership, Life and Diversity Coach who has a specialty in working with marginalized communities. I have studied identity development, trauma-informed care, and coaching for the LGBTQIA+ community and am a skilled facilitator in these social support groups.
All homework assigned will be 100% optional and will help students dive deeper into the topic discussed. Homework assignments might include things like an art project, talking to family or friend, journaling, etc.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class is affirming of LGBTQIA+ community, all of it! Transphobia, the current popular trend, will not be accepted here. All things queer are up for discussion and discussion will be led by what is going on in the lives of the kids who attend.
