Class Experience
What kind of star is our sun? Is Pluto still a dwarf planet, or has it been reclassified again? What are asteroids, and where are they found in the solar system? Where do comets come from, and why can you only see them once in a lifetime? How big is Jupiter anyway? This class will present learners with an overview of our solar system. We will cover the objects found in the solar system, including the sun, planets, dwarf planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. We will cover where...
Learners will learn the basics of our solar system's objects, their sizes, distances in space, and the importance of gravity.
Natasha has taught astronomy to learners from age 3 and up for 7 years through science outreach programs and activities. She studies science and focuses on physics, astronomy, and Earth science, and has been an amateur astronomer since she was a young learner herself!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
