Welcome to our Babysitter’s Club! Each week we meet and discuss a general theme to learn and improve our babysitting skills. We will spend the beginning 10 minutes of class learning through slides, stories, playing games and other fun ways! As a group we work together to determine what activities you’re enjoying most so you can learn as easily as possible. Clubs are supposed to be fun, right?! After the learning portion it’ll be time to socialize with our fellow babysitters. Here’s a list of topics we’ll discuss: Week of April 4: Water Safety Week of April 11: Discipline vs. Punishment Week of April 18: Advertising, Interviews & Babysitter Safety Week of April 25: Babysitting Bag & Caregiving Skills Week of May 1: Babysitter and Parent Expectations I will gladly consider your topic requests! Students can request a reference letter from me for future interviews via Outschool messages after attending 4 classes.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from Cape Breton University
I grew up in a very small town and started babysitting when I was 11 but was a mother’s helper since I was 9. I counted down the days until I was eligible to take the babysitter’s course. I worked a ridiculous amount of hours because it felt like a hobby! I decided to pursue an education and career in Human Resources Management thinking it meant I’d save all that passion and energy for my own kids and have an easier time as a mom. Having my own wasn’t enough! I missed teaching and caring for a class of kids. So now I’m here, and hoping to help your children using my business, motherhood and daycare expertise along with my education in sociology and developmental psychology. Thank you for taking the time to consider my course!
