Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
Howdy, Rangers! This introductory course will cover a brief history and geography of the National Park System. We will spend much time on the stories and roles of our Park Rangers, as I believe that story is always the best context for learning! My goal is to bring my high levels of energy, to be matched with learners' high energy, and meet our learning objectives. I will use photographs, animations, and props to engage learners. Students will understand origins of National Park System. Students will understand that National Parks are throughout the United States. Students will understand the role of NPS Rangers. Students will know about the Junior Ranger Programs hosted through NPS.
There will be no homework for this class. Students will be doing brief, independent work during the class period.
Several sheets of paper, colored pencils, and other writing utensils or preferred art supplies.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
