Learners will be able to use the process of making and borrowing groups of tens to solve 2 and 3 digit addition and subtraction word problems. They will know to always start in the ones column, then move to the tens column, and then the hundreds column when subtracting 3 digits.
Maria Ramirez is a Massachusetts licensed Elementary Teacher who has been teaching children for over a decade in public, private and charter schools including after school and summer programs. The majority of her teaching has taken place in first and second grade classrooms. After each class your learner will have a practice sheet to complete before the next class. It will build upon the skills taught in class. Please assist your learner in uploading a picture of their completed homework for my review and feedback.

There will be an assessment given in the last class of this part. Students will have the opportunity to solve six 2 and 3 digit addition and subtraction word problems with regrouping. I will use this information to report to you about your learner's progress and next steps.
