Please contact me to schedule a time. *REGISTER FOR 4 CLASSES (MEETS ONCE WEEKLY) AT A TIME. **CLASSES ARE SET UP IN BLOCKS OF FOUR, MEETING ONCE EACH WEEK, FOR 4 WEEKS. Learners will gain strategies, learn rules about patterns and grammar....in which to develop and/or strengthen skills in reading and spelling, as well as reading comprehension, and reading and writing fluency skills. It will also provide learners with practice for oral reading and oral language development.
As a former elementary school teacher and current Orton-Gillingham instructor, I have several years experience working with students utilizing various methods and curricula to develop students’ foundational literacy skills.
Homework upon request.
3 files available upon enrollmentHandouts (Student Recording Sheets) will be provided before each class. A printer for weekly printouts for each lesson. A 3-ring binder or folder for each lesson for future reference. (A notebook to write lessons in if choosing not to print handouts.) Pencil. Tactile surface: sandpaper, sponge, any textured surface.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners are assessed during the first class to get an idea of strengths and weaknesses. Students will be assessed informally during each class, which will “drive” instruction/homework.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
