Class Experience
In this ongoing course we will practice recognizing, reading and spelling words with various patterns. We will also continually review and practice important spelling rules. We will learn prefixes, suffixes and root words. Each class will run in the exact same format as to instill confidence and security in the children. I am a licensed teacher in the State of Indiana with over 25 years experience teaching, tutoring and coaching. I have been trained in the Orton-Gillingham method by The Dyslexia Institute of Indiana and in Kindergarten OG by the M.A. Rooney Foundation. I have completed Advanced Orton-Gillingham Training and Written Expression Training through the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana. I have completed courses on dyslexia and structured literacy through the Montessori Foundation. I have also taken a Conscious Discipline training. I am a professional member of the International Dyslexia Association. I am currently working on LETRS training through Voyager Sopris Learning and have completed Units 1-7 with Certificates of Mastery. In 2018-2020 I worked in a private Montessori school serving students who have Individual Service Plans.
There will be no mandatory homework, but optional practice and follow-ups to concepts may be provided at times.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
