⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐This is a 1 to 1 Class⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First Class is ➡️FREE⬅️ We will do a Barton assessment, general OG assessment and get to know each other and determine if Barton is the right fit for your learner. (If your learner needs more intensive intervention then please check out this class instead: https://outschool.com/classes/orton-gillingham-tutor-for-dyslexia-dysgraphia-reading-intervention-xuxa8j3g?usid=xPCOFvqb&signup=true&utm_campaign=share_activity_link) ➽───────────────➽───────────────➽───────❥❥ In this ONGOING class ⭐1 to 1⭐ class we will complete the Barton Reading and Spelling System together. Each lesson is systematic, explicit, prescriptive and extremely thorough. The Barton System is based in Orton Gillingham Methodology which is the gold standard for reading intervention. Barton is a specialized system that uses the OG approach and is an exceptional system because it is extremely detailed, intensive, and well designed. All the lessons build on each other and will set students up for life-long success. It is my favorite system for Orton Gillingham based dyslexia intervention. I am trained in Orton Gillingham through the Dyslexia Training Institute at the University of San Diego. I was also a Disability Services (DSPS) Counselor for a community college and have been homeschooling my children and teaching online for the past 10 years. As an intervention and disability specialists I will follow the scope and sequence of the Barton System and will utilize my professional judgment as we go to help your learner master the concepts of each lesson and level at your learners individual pace. I also enjoy gamified learning and research shows that when learners are having fun, they learn and retain information much faster. I will endeavor to make it as fun as possible while still following the scope and sequence of the Barton System and OG methodologies. Within each level there are approximately 10-15 lessons. The rate at which learners progress through the lessons and levels, is very individual. Some learners will move rapidly through some concepts and they may need more time to master other concepts. I am also passionate about dysgraphia intervention and we will work on handwriting and reading comprehension as well. ✅Level 1: Phonemic Awareness -Intake Assessment - CV and VC nonsense words - CVC nonsense words -VCC nonsense words -CCV nonsense words -Rhyming & Real Words -Post Test ✅Level 2: Consonants & Short Vowels -A, B, F, M, P, S, T -I, C, G, H, L, N, R -O, D, J, K, V, Z -U, W, X, Y, QU -E, SH, TH, CH, WH, CK ✅Level 3: Closed Syllables and Units -Blends at the End -Blends at the Beginning -Blends at Both Ends -Digraph and 3-Letter Blends -Spelling–Floss Lesson -Spelling–Kiss the Cat Rule Lesson -Spelling–Milk Truck Rule - Spelling–ING INK Units - Spelling–Catch Lunch Rule- -Spelling–Contractions -Spelling–Kind Old Units ✅Level 4: Syllable Division and Vowel Teams -Open Syllables -Syllable Division Rule #1 - Syllable Division Rule #2 -Spelling–/k/ in the middle -Spelling–Double Letters -Spelling–Schwa -Syllable Division Rule #3 -Syllable Division Rule #4 -Three-Syllable Words -Spelling–The Banana Rule -Spelling–The Confident Rule -Spelling–Long A, E, I at End (Vowel Teams) -Spelling–Long O, U at End (Vowel Teams) -Spelling–Vowel Teams in Middle 3 (Vowel Teams) ✅Level 5: Prefixes and Suffixes -Plurals–S versus ES -Consonant Suffixes -ED and ING, The Doubling Rule -Other Sounds of ED -Vowel Suffixes -Spelling–The Change Rule -Spelling–TION versus SION -Prefixes: dis, in, un, non -Prefixes: mis, sub, re, pre -Prefixes: inter, mid, over, up ✅Level 6: Six Reasons for Silent-E -Silent-E's in One-Syllable words -Syllable Division with Silent-E -C's and G's with Silent-E's -Spelling–V at the End -Spelling–The Huge Bridge Rule -Spelling–The Dropping Rule - Spelling–Tricky Suffixes -Spelling–PH and Medial Y -Unit–TURE -Spelling–TION and SION -Silent-E Units -Consonant-LE Syllables - Spelling–The Sprinkle Vehicle Rule -Spelling–ABLE versus IBLE ✅Level 7: Vowel-R Syllables -AR and OR -ER, IR, and UR -Vowel-R with Silent-E -Prefixes & Suffixes with Vowel-R -Spelling–Commodore Sailor Rule -Bossy W -Spelling–Edward the Lizard Rule -The Three Sounds of EAR -AR and ER can say /AIR/ -Word Endings ARY, ERY, and ORY -Vowel-R Plus R ✅Level 8: Advanced Vowel Teams -Spelling: India Indian Musician -Spelling: Obvious Spacious Religious -Spelling: Radio Union Million Region -Spelling: Industrial Special Dial -IE: Piece of Pie -OI, OY, EY: Oil Boy, Turkey -AU, AW: Audience Saw -OO: Good Food -OU, OW: Mouse Group, Slow Down - EA: Clean Breath is Great - IGH, AUGH, EIGH, EI - EU, TU: Feud, Sleuth, Actual - Split Vowels ✅Level 9: Influences of Foreign Languages -Greek Words -Silent Letter Pairs -Words That End in I and INE -French Words: QUE and CH -French Words: AGE and 2 Suffixes -French Words: Silent and Accented E -French Words: Silent S and T plus EAU -French Words: OUR - Spelling: G, GU, and GUE ✅Level 10: Greek Words and Latin Roots -Latin: Chameleon Prefix: IN -Latin: Chameleon Prefix: CON -Latin: Chameleon Prefixes: OB and SUB -Latin: Chameleon Prefix: AB -Latin: Chameleon Prefixes: EX and DIS -Greek Combining Forms -Greek Forms in Science -Greek Forms in Math -Greek Forms in Medicine - Greek Forms in Social Studies
