Class Experience

To have fun mastering the shapes with speed and retention so that students don't have to flip back and forth to the reference page on the PSAT or SAT test.
My expertise that allows me to teach SAT prep include my successful teaching along with my educational training.

I homeschooled four boys who had varying learning abilities that ranged from one with pronounced learning disabilities to one is gifted and talented. When it came to PSAT's and SAT's, I personally trained each of them with impressive results. Their score increases were at the minimum 150 point and as much as 300 points.

It can be done! I used a focused approach. We honed in on trouble areas, really understood the underlying math concept, and drilled for mastery.

As a chemical engineer and project management professional in the world of business consulting and information technology consulting, I've completed over five levels of college calculus and applied mathematics and used these math and computing skills throughout my career. I've been certified to teach in the public schools and went through certified training for gifted and talented.

25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Necessary prerequisite knowledge:
Familiarity with the names of the shapes and some of the formulae.

Helpful, but not necessary perquisite knowledge:
It may be helpful, but not necessary, for your learner to have some of the formulae memorized only because he/she will enjoy the game more. Many students are only familiar with the formulae without having them memorized. That's fine. We will take a few minutes for review at the start of the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
