Class Experience

Are you interested in birds or veterinary science? The avian respiratory system is the most efficient in the animal kingdom, and can be traced back to Theropods. In this one-time class, students will become familiar with bird anatomy, how they breathe and what makes this cycle so unique. Slides will be shown as we discuss avian respiration and investigate why and how it may have developed over time. Students may enjoy using a device that allows them to "annotate" or draw on the screen during a gas exchange demonstration through zoom.
