This fun class is filled with Math and Art at the same time! Origami is the art of folding paper from the Japanese culture. You will have so much fun creating new things from a simple square piece of paper that you will not be able to stop. This is a beginner course that I know each of you will love! In this class, we will meet 2 times to create new and exciting paper art. We will learn geometry vocabulary like symmetry, triangle, square and rectangle. Have you ever wanted to make your very own cat from paper? We will do just that and many other animals and a box to keep your special things in! I can't wait for us to have fun with origami! Hello and Welcome to my profile page! I am an elementary school teacher of 22 years. I have been an online teacher and a stay at home mom for 3 years. I have been married for 25 years and have 2 daughters ages 23 and 19. I also have a basset hound named Melody. I enjoy crafting with my Cricut, cooking/baking and road trips with the family.
I graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Math. For 21 years I worked with Title I students. I worked with children that have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Special Ed accommodations and GT students. I was also a Girl Scout leader for several years for my daughters.
I am currently teaching online with VIPKID as an ESL teacher. It has been an awesome experience sharing the English Language with the students.
My hope as a teacher is to build a sense of belonging to a group, where students can express themselves in a safe space. I want students to feel they can take chances with their learning and ask the questions no one wants to ask.
My favorite color is purple. My bedroom growing up was lavender and my bridesmaids wore deep purple in my wedding.
