Students will learn origami and follow instructions to create two bunny designs, a bunny and Easter bunny egg holder.
I'm a licensed elementary classroom teacher. I was a homeroom teacher in 1st and 2nd grade. I have a master's degree in literacy with a focus on grades K-5. I'm a certified Orton-Gillingham instructor and have worked as a reading tutor for students in grades K-3.
Students will need three squares of paper to make the two bunny designs. I used two 6" square papers to make the bunny egg holder, one for the body and one for the head. I used one 6" square paper to make the bunny. Students can also use copy paper, magazine paper, advertisement paper, or gift wrap. I do not recommend construction paper because it is too thick to fold well and students may get frustrated working with it. Students can bring multiple papers to class if they want to make more of each design. Students will need a glue stick to glue the bunny egg holder. If students have plastic eggs at home they can bring them to class to size their bunny egg holder. If students don't have plastic eggs yet and don't know what size their eggs will be, they should wait to glue their egg holder. Plastic eggs vary in size. Students need crayons, markers, or colored pencils to decorate the bunny faces.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
