Description
Class Experience
Origami is a skill that requires patience, concentration, hand -eye coordination, and the ability to plan ahead. Students will be learning the subtleties to this Art form, while making objects that inspire them. As the finished results are very rewarding, all participants have a real - time experience of practice and patience paying off. It is a unique visual art form that starts as one thing, and completely transforms by the end of the lesson. Students will subtly learn visual thinking strategies which can be implemented into any further Art or Design class, and often helps build confidence socially, as well. The ultimate goals , are to make some paper art and have fun! These exciting developmental benchmarks will prosper along the way
Students are more then welcome to continue projects on their own time, outside of club
Many sheets of Origami paper is all that is needed for this class Crayons, pencils, and additional markers are always welcome !
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Progress and skill refinement will be evident in the participant’s body of work over time. At the conclusion of each class, each learner will have at least two completed objects. The very existence of these objects is a success story unto itself, based on the importance of the step by step instructions involved in every product of this technique. Student participation through comments and questions will be another great indicator of knowledge retained.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
