Origami Camp for Beginners

In the 5 day camp we will make different Origami creations. Each day will have a main project: crane, blow up ball, swan, box with lid, and candy dish. We will also make simpler creations with extra time.
Class experience
This origami camp is designed for students with minimal origami experience, but a desire to learn. I go step by step and stop as needed for students to complete each step. Students will be hands on with their paper creation the whole class. Students should know what Origami is and have a strong understanding of vocabulary words used in Origami. This includes but is not limited to: half, corner, middle, center, thirds, flip, top, bottom, edge, left, right,etc. I demonstrate each fold...
Student will create basic origami creations. Throughout the week, students will create different Origami crafts building in difficulty.
I have been creating origami creations since I was a child as a hobby. During my years as as a brick and mortar classroom teacher, I taught Origami crafts for different holidays with Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students. I enjoy sharing the art of paper folding with children.
Students will need multiple square sheets of paper each day for this class. Each day we will make at least 1 new project. On day 5 student will be allowed to have scissors to create the needed paper sizes for the project.
On day 5 we will be making an Origami person. Student will be allowed to have scissors to cut the paper to size ifthey do not want to crease and rip the paper. I will demonstrate both methods in class.
