In this 4-week flex course, learners will create 6 origami animals and create a diorama aquarium to showcase their work.
Class experience
In this 4-week flex class, learners will create 6 origami ocean animals. We will showcase our 6 origami animals in an aquarium-themed diorama. Students will record and upload a video tour of their diorama to share with the other learners. Students will develop their hand-eye coordination, persistence, and artistic confidence by following the origami steps and instructions. Students will create 6 origami ocean animals, create a keepsake diorama of their work, and engage in written discussion with fellow learners.
Learners will need the following supplies: - Origami paper in multiple colors. I encourage purchasing a pack from Amazon or a craft store. - Diorama supplies: This is up to each student. They will brainstorm ideas and be encouraged to use supplies they already have if possible. Suggested materials: Box, string, glue, tape, crayons, markers, paint, toilet paper rolls, tissue paper, pipe cleaners, craft gravel.
