In this one time biology class we will discuss the difference between a plant and an animal cell. Cytoplasm and 9 other organelles will be introduced as well as discussing the function of each. Class will be in an interactive way encouraging discussion. Also included at the end of the class will be a video featuring an activity that I created in my kitchen showing how to make an edible animal cell out of candy. Then you can make do this project on your own as a way to review the material...
At the end of this class students should know the difference between an animal and a plant cell. The student should also be able to name the organelles of an animal cell and describe the function of each.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
