Class Experience

After this camp, your learner will be able to say, "I am better prepared for and more confident now about inequalities on the SAT".
Welcome! I'm excited that you joined this class. Would you please introduce yourself to me and the other learners? And please share any background or questions you have in this topic area.

A little about the class. I have students help me solve the problems so be prepared to participate. When it's your turn, remember that we're all doing it together, so I'd rather that you tell me what to write and we put all the solving up on the screen so we all stay together. Please know that more times than not students need me to guide them through the problems and that works just fine, so if you are ninja at solving these, good for you! We will LOVE having you help the others. But know that if you are not, then welcome to the club! Nearly all the students are here for that reason!
No homework will be assigned for this class.
Paper, pencil, and a brain ready to learn and share.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner's progress is assessed by how well the learner participates in the interactions during class.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students will have far more fun if they have taken high school math courses and are comfortable with the terminology and concepts. This class is not an introductory or concept teaching class, although many times students are rusty or have never been taught certain concepts that are on the SAT. When that happens, learners will be introduced to the concept briefly with a concise explanation on how to solve the problems with the time available without slowing the pace of the class. We keep the class flowing so that your learner gets used to the quick pace for the timed SAT. Students are expected to be familiar enough to participate.
Paper, pencil, and a brain ready to learn and share.
