Join me, a licensed dental assistant, in an interactive one-time class where we will be discussing oral hygiene for kids. We will discuss as a group the foods and drinks in our everyday lives that are good and bad for our teeth. Once we have identified the unhealthy foods we will talk about the harm they cause to our teeth and what we can do to prevent that from happening. Students will be encouraged to participate in the discussion and to share their own ideas and knowledge, I find that...
Identify which foods and drinks are healthy or unhealthy for our teeth. Understand where cavities come from. Be able to effectively brush and floss your teeth.
I am a licenses dental assistant through the Minnesota Board of Dentistry and through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). I have 10 years experience working in this field and 2 1/2 years experience teaching online.
I will be providing a tooth brushing chart where students can start to keep track of how often they are brushing their teeth. This helps to show students how well they are doing at the end of each week and helps in goal setting.
Optional: Please bring your toothbrush to class if you wish to show it to myself and the rest of the learners.
An informal assessment will be made of learners after class.
25 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
I will be showing one short (40 second) child friendly video that discusses "sugar bugs" and what they do to our teeth.
