Can you believe your eyes? In this one-time class, students will have fun observing optical illusions and analyzing how they trick our minds. Students will also learn how to draw their own illusion! This class is great for gifted learners.

Can you really believe your eyes? In this fast-paced, one-time class, students will enjoy exploring some optical illusions and other strange phenomena related to perception. We will discuss how our eyes take in data, but our minds interpret that data –– sometimes incorrectly. Students are free to bring and share their favorite illusion. Students will examine how our eyes and mind work together to interpret the world around us.
I hold my master's degree in gifted education and have five years of experience teaching middle school gifted learners. I am certified to teach gifted education, pre-K to 12th grades.
There is no homework, but I challenge students to try to create an ambiguous image after class and send it to me, just for fun.
