Optical Art - Drawing Lessons in Optical Illusion

We will draw and shade 3D objects as they magically appear on the paper. These directed drawings use simple step-by-step instructions. This beginning drawing class is surprisingly simple while producing a cleverly complex final creation.

Class Experience

In this one-time beginning art class, students will learn the beauty of optical art by drawing simple lines and filling in with colorful shading. We begin by introducing the class rules followed by a brief and interesting summary of optical art and introduction of our inspirational artist of the day. We will then proceed with the directed drawing lesson, while periodically checking for questions and pacing and finally an opportunity to share student's thoughts and works of art in class. No art experience necessary.
