Each student will be given choices of which pet they feel is the best or worst with vibrant illustrations, exciting incentives, and a fun and engaging learning environment. Learners will discuss ideas for a written response and work together to form their own opinions. Each learner will make a decision and expand on their opinion using illustrations and writing strategies. I will act as a guide to help students add details to their illustrations as well as expand on their writing skills through hands-on learning experiences and strategies. My job is to coach your learner through putting their ideas into written form by stretching out words as they write their opinion. We will end with time to share their opinion and finished product while explaining why they felt that particular pet was the best or worst! I can’t wait for you to join in on the fun!
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of the process of opinion writing including; forming an opinion, communicating similarities and differences, and expanding on details through illustrations and written words to form a finished writing example.
