Class Experience

Lock, Shock, and Barrel have sewed Oogie back together. Bugs, bags, and all, Oogie is back! He has become even more powerful and, surprisingly, more evil. He captured Jack and placed his spell over all of Halloween Town. He has renamed the town, Oogie Town. His new song rings through town:

-- Yes Oogie is here, yes I am back!
-- I'm the King now, there is no Jack!
-- If you should try to stop me now, and think you have somethin new,
-- You need to be aware, it won't go well for you!
-- It's hopeless, you'd be finished, you haven't got a prayer!
-- Cause I'm Mr. Oogie Boogie and I ain't going nowhere!

Zero has escaped and can lead you and your team to Jack. However, you will have to defeat Oogie and watch out for his pals Lock, Shock, and Barrel. Join the squad to take on Oogie and rescue Jack from this new Nightmare!

Like my other Escape Rooms, team work and critical thinking are key. This escape room is very difficult and just knowing about Nightmare Before Christmas will not get you through this escape room. Find the clues, crack the codes, and don't get caught by Oogie. His Lair is not where you want to end up.

I have always been very curious and creative and I love to inspire it in kids (both my own and others) as well. I like to teach through projects, which give students a choice on the way they learn and show their understanding. I also love to teach through games and like to combine game elements in my classes.

I believe history, studied in context, to be extremely important. In fact, it's one of our best teachers. The other "subject" I believe to be of high importance is Logic. Unfortunately, logic has long been left off most curriculums. Knowing how to examine events and history through logical thinking and analysis gives us a deep, true understanding of our world.

I'm a big believer in every parent having all the need to school their children all the way through high school. So, if you are ever in doubt, let me encourage you.

My educational consulting company, It's A Potsick Education, exists to build up curious, creative learners. I do custom content/lesson design, private, online events, consulting, and more. Message me for anything you need.

I was a classroom teacher in the public schools for over 15 years and, for the past 14 years, have been helping my wife homeschool as well. I currently hold state certifications in Florida (certificate # 960883) in the areas of Middle Grades Social Science and Language Arts and Elementary Education. I have extensive classroom experience with all Elementary and Middle Grades subject content and have done private tutoring for many years in Math, Civics, Science, and Language Arts.
