Oobleck -- A Fascinating Science Experiment!
In this one-time course, we will be making a non-Newtonian substance (both a solid and a liquid) with two simple ingredients, while also learning about states of matter and two different types of fluids!

Class Experience
Learners will refresh learning around the basic states of matter. Learners will use measuring and mixing to form a fascinating substance! Learners will learn about Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids and flex their thinking skills. They will learn from their experiments as well as some guidance from me around the mysteries of Oobleck!
None, but I've heard you can freeze Oobleck. What happens? I honestly don't know. You can do an extra experiment after class to find out!
Along with space to get a little messy, learners will need: A large box of cornstarch (at least 2 cups) Water (at least a cup) Measuring cups -- 1/2, 3/4, and 1 cup A medium-sized bowl or container Optional: Liquid food coloring makes this a bit more fun! A dish rag or towel if you'd like to cover your keyboard
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
