Class Experience

Is your little learner ready to learn their alphabet with fun activities such as alphabet writing, emergent reading books, and fun show and tell of each letter? If yes, this is the perfect class for your child. Your learner will love this class and the best thing is that everything will be done in only 30 minutes

**IN THE RARE CASE A TEACHER CAN’T MAKE IT TO CLASS DUE TO AN EMERGENCY WE HAVE TRAINED TEACHERS TO TAKE OVER THE CLASS**

What things will be covered?
~ Alphabet sounds, alphabet writing, alphabet recognition
~ Students will also be exposed to emergent reading books. Those books contain about 7 pages and this is where our story telling will take place.

Do I have to commit to all scheduled classes?
Great question, this is an ongoing class which means that your child can be enrolled in 1 session or all of them if you want

Things I need to know as a parent as per Outschool policy or to ensure all students have a great class experience:
~ As per Outschool policy adults can’t be on camera
~ Only children registered for class can be on camera. Please have all other siblings or friends away from camera
~ We care about our students which is why we always run classes with 1 learner if we have to but if you don’t want your child to be the only student please reach out to us and we can make a transfer or extend the class to see if more kids enroll
~ If there is too much background noise your child will be muted. Don’t take this personal as muting students ensure that we’re all able to hear each other and have a great classroom learning experience
~ Recordings will only be available upon request
~ Your child will need to print 2 pages for every class time. Please ensure your child has them for class as they will not be able to follow along without them
~ This class will run twice a week
~ If you no longer wish to have your child enrolled in class please unenroll prior to Sunday to ensure you’re not charged for the class

Is this the right class for my child?
In order to ensure your child has the best experience in this class it is best if your child knows the following:
~ Have been exposed to their alphabet and letter sounds
~ Is able to hold their pencil to ensure they can follow along with the teacher
~ Enjoys fun story books. This books don't include stories like The Three Little Pigs. Stories are Emergent Reading Books which means that they have about 7 pages with small sentences such as (The cold weather disappears. Spring brings sunshine to the forest. All the animals come back)

What items does my child need for class?
Great question, we want your child to be successful in class. These are the items needed for class:
1) 2 worksheets that will be send the day of class. Please don't let your child work on them as we will do it together
2) Crayons
3) Pencils
4) One item for show and tell. Please ensure that it starts with the letter of the day. For example, the first class will be letter A so they can have an item of an apple, airplane, etc... for show and tell

How is class structured?
This is extremely important for parents to know because you want to know exactly what your child will learn, so great question and here’s a breakdown of our class

~ 2 Minutes: Welcome students to class and ask how everyone is doing
~ 3 minutes: Teacher will share screen to read students the Emergent Reader Book (ex: A deer stands in the forest to stay away from cold wind. The deer only moves to find plants to eat) STUDENTS WILL BE MUTED TO ENSURE EVERYONE CAN HEAR THE STORY
~ 10-15 minutes: Teacher will go over Alphabet activity sheets where students will be taught how to write the uppercase and lowercase letter. Students will also be identifying their alphabet by coloring them

2nd worksheet where students will identify what items start with the letter of the day

5-10 minutes of Show and Tell: Please have students have one item with the letter of the day

**IF TIME PERMITS, THE TEACHER WILL SHARE HER SCREEN AND DO SOME FUN ALPHABET OR MATH LESSON WITH THE KIDS**
