This ongoing class meets once a week to explore the behavior of our city-and-suburb-dwelling wildlife neighbors. Each class stands on its own, so learners may enroll at any time.
Class Experience
US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In each session the class will learn about and discuss a different city-dwelling animal. We will learn why they live in such close proximity to people, what adaptations they have gone through to make that possible, how they enhance city life, and what dangers they pose. We will discuss the pros and cons of feeding them, how far away we should stay from them, and what to do if we are bitten by a wild animal. - Learners should come away with basic knowledge of each animal, what we can do to protect their "wildness," and what we should do if we encounter a wild animal close up.
