Exciting Summer Fun With American Sign Language for Learners Ages 5-7

This is an ongoing class in which learners will have fun learning American Sign Language (ASL) through a fun story and music! Join me in learning ASL for a parent of a hard-of-hearing child.

1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hours per week
Homework
1 hour per week. No formally homework just practice the signs learned in each class
Assessment
An Informal Assessment will be given after two weeks of the learner's taking the class, and parents will receive a message every three to four weeks.

Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
This ongoing course will focus on signs and how to create sentences and stories using them. While prior knowledge of American Sign Language is very useful, it is no longer required.

ABC the alphabet 
 Learn words for this week

Playing Games using American Sign Language

If you are enrolling in the course, the alphabet will be sent to the learner on the day they enroll, so they are knowledgeable about that aspect. 

 Themes:
Week of June 23: Action and Related Words
Week of June 30: No Class. Ms. Annmarie will be on Vacation
Week of July 7 : All about the Weather
Week of July 14: Opposites 
Week of July 21:  Colors and Animals 
Week of July 28:All about the Weather 
Week of August 4: Indoor and Outdoor Play Sign 
Week of August 11:  Answer and Manner 
Week of August 18: Back to School sign

These will repeat, and we will cover the basis of ASL throughout these classes. Learners can stop and start subscriptions at any time throughout the class. No prior knowledge is required.

I have been teaching American Sign Language for over 15 years. I worked in the Deaf community for 10 years.  I teach a music and movement program in my local area and teach American Sign at different Preschools and private kindergarten in my local area.  We use signs to communicate as my daughter who is Hard of Hearing and also an Outschool teacher .   My teaching style is make learning fun and keep learning going.
