Is your student struggling with Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra or Geometry? This ongoing tutoring class is designed to help and support learners with their mastery of math. Each session will be tailored to the students that are enrolled (maximum of 4 students per session). Students will have the chance to submit problems they would like explained during class and each week we will discuss a Pre-Algebra topic that pertains to the curriculum. These sessions are designed for enrichment, homework help and to review Pre-Algebra concepts. Students who struggle can improve comprehension and mastery with small group tutoring. This class meets for one 45 minute session each week. This class is “ongoing” which means that students can enroll and withdraw at anytime (based on class availability). Classes are taught by a retired math teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. Students will learn by direct instruction, cooperative groups, work with manipulatives, formula sheets and worksheets. Students will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions throughout class. This class is kept to four students or less to ensure each student has a chance to participate in the discussion and receive the help they need. Classes are taught using google slides and note taking tips are also discussed. More work to reinforce a lesson can/may be given if an individual student needs extra practice. Students should presently be working on Pre-Algebra curriculum and have a basic understanding of working with numbers. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
