Class Experience

In this ongoing class, students will learn about different themes in Chinese, such as animals, leisure activities, food, and colors through repetition and voice variation. This class is for students who have little background in Chinese. This class is conducted in 50-60% Chinese. 
Students will learn how to say a variety of vocabulary words in Chinese and draw them. They will then have the opportunity to present their drawings and have a conversation with their peers....

This class is taught in Mandarin Chinese.

The goal of this class is to strengthen their Chinese language skills, enjoy drawing, and to make connections with the vocabulary words and with others.

I have found teaching using strategies that employ multiple intelligences is the key to learning. In my classrooms, students learn through visual, music, language, and kinetic movements. Drawing helps learners focus and connect the words with their visual images.

I am a native Chinese speaker and have taught Chinese for over ten years from kindergarten to adult learners. I am a certified teacher with experience working at a Chinese immersion school. Throughout my career, I have taught Chinese I, II, III, IV, AP and business Chinese. I have a master's degree in education.

I will provide worksheets and review materials for this class. The material will be shared in our classroom and students can download or print if they would like.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
