Learners will need to "share out" their doodles and ideas during class.Class Experience
US Grade 5 - 8
Kids actually love to write. If we focus on making writing an enjoyable task, we can inspire their natural curiosity and creativity to increase their writing abilities. This class will cover the basics of sketchnoting and how it specifically targets the ADHD brain. From there it will help students craft: character builds through drawing and sketchnoting; world-building through 3-D mapping on paper; plot-design through the study of classic and modern story-line development. No class builds off of previous knowledge, so kids can pop in and out of classes as they develop their characters and worlds. How is your class structured? Classes are dynamic and engaging in that no more than 15 minutes at a time are devoted to "lecture." The rest of the class is see-do-share model where students are given doodle and build challenges. How will you teach? Teaching style is geared toward autism and ADHD friendly environment. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? Students will share out ideas, writing, and sketches during discussion. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? No experience required but learners are encouraged to come to camp with some idea of what they want their world/ character/ story to include.
