Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the parts and functions of the brain and the nervous system, and how the nervous system regulates the systems of the body.
I love science, especially the field of biology. My degree is in psychology with a concentration in biology and English. I enjoy teaching biology classes – especially those about the brain – and reading about different topics on biology. I am as much a student as I am a teacher. I wholeheartedly enjoy exploring the latest research and sharing my findings with my fellow learners. I encourage active participation and make my students feel empowered to ask questions, express their ideas, and share what they know.
No homework will be assigned. Learners will have access to class recordings upon request. I will provide the class recording so learners can view a missed class. I will send a Quizlet study set for learners who want to see what is coming in their next class.
Students will find the following materials helpful during class. Please bring supplies and printouts to class. You will need: • Paper and pen/pencil • Colored pens, pencils, or crayons • Weekly supplemental materials that I will upload to the classroom
Learner progress will be assessed through in-class activities and gaming platforms such as Kahoot and Gimkit.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
