Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 4
Students will find the following materials helpful during class. Please bring supplies and printouts to class. You will need:
•	Paper and pen/pencil
•	Colored pens, pencils, or crayons

This ongoing science class will cover brain anatomy, the nervous system, and how the brain functions and regulates the body's organ systems and structures.

Students will explore the brain, nervous system, and organ systems from a scientific and personal perspective. They will learn scientific names, explore how each system works, and learn how things work in their own brain and body.

Although this is an ongoing course, classes are standalone. Each class will focus on a specific part of the brain and/or body. Learners will explore how the body system interacts with the nervous system.

Students of all learning styles will gain knowledge while having a blast in this highly interactive, gamified class. We will achieve learning and interaction by using slide presentations, videos, quizzes, and activities. At the end of each class, we will use gamified platforms like Kahoot and Gimkit, so learners can show what they know in a game show format.

This is a weekly subscription. Payment is charged each Sunday before the class meets. If a class isn't scheduled for the week, you will not be charged. If you aren't able to attend a week's session, you can unsubscribe before the weekend to avoid being charged for the upcoming session. It isn't possible to hold your seat without payment for the week.

Videos will be sent to students who aren't able to attend the live class. Class recordings are available after processing, typically 4 hours after class ends.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from University of Alabama at Birmingham
I love science, especially the field of biology. My degree is in psychology with a concentration in biology and English. I enjoy teaching biology classes – especially those about the brain – and reading about different topics on biology. I am as much a student as I am a teacher. I wholeheartedly enjoy exploring the latest research and sharing my findings with my fellow learners. I encourage active participation and make my students feel empowered to ask questions, express their ideas, and share what they know.
