In this ongoing class, learners will discover what the periodic table is and how it was invented. They will learn about different elements each week according to their properties. Students will learn how to pronounce the element discussed, learn the abbreviation, discover position on the periodic table, what the element is used for, where it occurs and which group of elements it belongs to. Week of August 21st: What is the Periodic Table? Week of August 28th: How does the Periodic Table work? Week of September 4th: Elements that glow, fizz, bang pop and explode Week of Septermber 11th: Hard, shiny metals Week of September 18th: Soft, dull metals Week of September 25th: The elements of life Week of November 15th: Solids, liquids and gases & Hidden Elements Week of October 2nd: Radioactive elements Note: Enrolled learners will be able to see what will be discussed each week in detail.
