Homework
1 hour per week. Homework will be writing for the most part since it is the most time-intensive area of learning and can be performed at home without teacher supervision. Parents will upload their child's writing to the classroom or attach it to an email before the next session so that the student and teacher can discuss and edit the piece as a key writing learning activity.Assessment
Teacher observation as well as student output will assess this class.Class Experience
These private tutoring sessions are individualized lessons designed to overcome learning struggles and intensify learning skills. I will work together with you, the parent, to create meaningful learning opportunities for each class. All areas of Language Arts will be covered on an as needed basis: reading fluency and comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, and writing in a variety of forms. During writing instruction, early learners will begin composing well-written sentences. Intermediate students will compose a good paragraph that includes excellent word choice, transitions, grammar and punctuation. Older learners will compose longer essays with an emphasis on understanding the these three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. I am always available to help assist with homework, too!
Learning Goals
The learner will improve reading fluency and/or comprehension, writing skills as appropriate to developmental level, and confidence in the entire area of Language Arts.
