Students will learn the instrument inside and out! Students will learn by directly playing. The private lesson is structured by learning new chords, tempos and this will lead us to learn new songs when we get to that level! This class will be taught individually and communication will be very necessary before class starts to ensure we are on the same page as to what level the learner is on. The class structure revolves specifically on the learners needs and interests. If you are unsure of...
Students will learn basic chords, strumming and music theory. We will learn the fundamentals of the instrument and focus on exactly what the learner needs specifically in this personal lesson. More help with chord shapes? No problem? Problems with strumming patterns? I got you! The practice and persistence of learning a new instrument is a great way to learn a lot of new skills including visual and audible forms of skills. This is a private lesson so I will be working 1:1 with each learners specific interests and needs. I will also be able to give advice on more helpful ways to PLAY OUTSIDE of class to improve dexterity, muscle memory and performance!
I grew up around music and it's even in my blood as my dad is a music teacher! I am offering this class because I saw two separate requests for this instrument and I love playing Ukulele! It is definitely easier to learn than guitar, especially for smaller hands! I have probably been playing Ukulele for at least ten years now. I have played piano for about fifteen or twenty years. And the best part is.... its fun to jam and learn the instrument! Bring songs that interest YOU.
Practice is highly encouraged to learn the instrument better! Classes fly by and it is not a lot of time to be playing the instrument. If you are serious about learning the Ukulele you will practice outside of class. I will have PLENTY of chords, songs and strumming patterns for you to practice outside of class.
A for Effort!
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Younger students may need help tuning their instrument at first.
