These are 1-on-1 piano lessons that will run weekly for beginners, classes will be designed specifically for the student based on age, level, needs, and interests. Lessons will include: - learning to read music - using fun games, drawings and activities we focus on HOW to read music, not just naming notes - reading rhythm, how long to hold a note and why - using a well-known curriculum book leaning to play right hand and left hand notes - learning songs early on - I add in theory and will send sheets for students to work on if they choose - I add in music history, small facts and stories about our songs and music - playing duets together - piano and theory games depending on age - songs students are interested in when they are ready - scales and other warmups - ear training If a parent/guardian or student has specific requests please contact me anytime to discuss. Learning Goals
Students will learn how to read music, why we read music the way we do, music theory, and history.
How to play using both hands separately and together.
Songs by reading music as well as by ear, duets, and ear training.

All material will be child friendly, and appropriate.
If students request specific music I will screen first for language and anything in appropriate.

A piano or keyboard (not a toy) Pedal is useful but not needed at first Piano books noted above (can send first pages through outschool if needed)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
