Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 6
I have a life-long passion for reading and writing, and for supporting students' confidence and ability in these areas.

In this class, I will provide individual tutoring tailored to your child's specific needs. Whether it be-pre reading foundational skills, phonics, reading fluently, comprehension of a difficult book, or other language arts related area, I will work with your child to help them improve their skills. I suggest tutoring 1 time per week for 6 weeks. After the initial tutoring period, parents, teacher, and the student can decide if more time is needed.

With parents' help, specific needs will be identified, and an individualized plan will be created. I will provide a simple parent questionnaire that will help me build a tutoring program for the student. This will include simple pre and post testing, targeted intervention, progress monitoring, and suggestions for continuing learning at home, if desired. Since this will be a 1-1 class, there will be quite a bit of interaction with the instructor.
Learning Goals
My goal is for students to be confident in their reading and/or writing skills. I like to make the learning fun and engaging, and the short meeting time means that this tutoring session can fit easily into a child's day.
