Watch your typing speed and accuracy soar as you actually enjoy practicing your typing skills. During our class, students will use the website, Nitrotype, to race against their classmates in this truly unique typing challenge. Students of any typing ability will enjoy and benefit from this class as the website customizes the length and difficulty of each typing task to fit a student's current speed and accuracy. Shorter easier to type sentences build to more challenging typing tasks as student's confidence increases. The race begins as a set of words to type appear on the bottom of the screen. Accurate typing will increase the speed of your car and your place in the race. Successful races provide students will rewards in the form of new cars and upgrades. You can even drive the Batmobile! Detailed statistics will show just how much your skills have increased as you look forward to each challenging race with your classmates. Note: This class does not emphasize home-row keys as this is not a feature of Nitrotype. However, students will develop a strong spatial sense for the computer keyboard resulting in an increase in typing speed, accuracy and confidence regardless of typing style.

Every class I teach on Outschool is a subject that I personally care about and I try to kindle each students excitement about the potential of technology to change our world. I have been a gifted and talented and programming teacher for the past seventeen years. My 3D printers are always printing something interesting from a Ironman helmet to a giant dinosaur named Flexi-Rex. My classes are all about challenging students to test their limits and have a great time doing it. I look forward to meeting you in one of my classes soon!
