In this fun on-going class we will meet once a week for 55 minutes to embrace our inner artist as we draw and paint a nature-themed watercolor artwork! This is the perfect club to draw, paint, and talk about all things nature! Each week we will create a painting inspired by nature. Whether it be a colorful landscape, an adorable animal, or an interesting plant or insect, we will draw, paint and have a blast together. Different styles and techniques will be explored during each session....

I have been teaching in the art field since 2012 and have degrees in art, English and psychology. I am also a published children’s book illustrator. My passion is inspiring kids to set their creativity free and grow through the experience.
There is no homework for this class. Each student will complete their own work of art within the class time.
-watercolor paper (12x16 size is only a recommendation and can really be done on various sizes but steps may have to be adapted for different sizes) -Watercolor Paint Palette with various colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, black, white (other colors can be used if student wants to be creative) -Colored Pencils set and Crayon set -Paper Towels -Paper Plate (at least 2) -Pencil with eraser -Water cup -Salt -White Acrylic Paint -Brushes in various sizes (a large #10 Flat, a medium #12 Round, a small #4 liner) These brushes are only a recommendation and we can make different ones work if needed but it is important to have at least one larger brush for large areas and one smaller brush for details. -masking tape can be useful if student wants to tape their paper down while working but it is not at all required
The learner's progress will be assessed informally, but each will receive feedback on the piece of art created during class.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There is no parental guidance required for this class other than possibly helping set up painting materials.
