In this ongoing class students, with teacher guidance, will solve logic puzzles by using their reading comprehension skills, deductive reasoning, and the visual representation on a grid. In class, we will solve some basic logic puzzles together as a group. I will ask for volunteers to read each clue (no one is required to read to the group). We then will discuss each clue and how it relates to the items in the grid. We must use our reading and listening comprehension skills to determine what each clue means. Logic puzzles are a fun, life-long hobby. In addition to basic logic puzzles in each class, at least one additional brain teaser activity will be included in each class as follows: The first week of the month = picture math puzzles. These puzzles help students practice their addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills with cute and funny pictures. Students do not need to know multiplication and division facts in order to solve these problems. The second week of the month = secret codes. Students will use a key to solve a secret message. The students will use their visual discrimination or math skills to use the key or cypher to decode a secret message. The third week of the month = spot the difference pictures. Students will use their visual discrimination skills to find the differences between two pictures. This is a fun and slightly competitive activity. The fourth week of the month = riddles. Students will learn the concept of simple riddles, which will stretch their thinking. I have a relaxed, fun teaching style. We will work as a group but participants can observe if they are not comfortable participating in the discussion.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a master's degree in School Psychology. I've worked as a School Psychologist with kids ages 3 - 18 in public and parochial schools for over 21 years. I've worked with students who struggle with learning and who have behavioral and mental health needs.
I've also been an online teacher for over four years, teaching English to students in China and other parts of the world. I'm familiar with the convenience and limitations of the online learning experience. I encourage discussion in my classroom.
If you have an idea for a class you'd like me to teach, please share it with me. I'm very excited to be working with Outschool!
